The Art Factory Art Walk Curator: Vanessa Liberati: gitana rosa

This year we are inviting curators to collaborate on The 2018 Paterson Art Walk. Vanessa Liberati brings her experience as a gallerist and art dealer in Williamsburg, Chelsea, and Piermont, NY, to the Art Factory raw industrial spaces. Liberati's aesthetic has an ecological bent, and her venue this year will open many opportunities for artists who want to explore Industrialism through the lens of The Paterson Historic National Park. As curator of The Art Factory Hemp and Silk Gallery Liberati is considering the possibility of indoor/outdoor installations for this year's Art Walk.

Liberati spent ten years in the Williamsburg art scene as owner of Gitana Rosa Gallery and she moved Gitana Rosa to Chelsea for a ten-year. During her time in Williamsburg and Chelsea her exhibits predominantly focused on sustainability and ecological practices.

When Liberati brought Gitana Rosa to the scenic Hudson River town of Piermont, NY, she combined her curatorial skills with a keen eye for exclusive, handmade retail. In Piermont, Gitana Rosa showcased original art as part of its rotating exhibition schedule, as well as limited edition artist prints and custom-designed, eco-conscious functional art such as pottery and jewelry. Vanessa Liberati embraces The Art Factory vision of sustainability and is thrilled to collaborate within TheArtFactory's creative coworking spaces community. A native Patersonian, she is passionate about giving back to her community by promoting sustainable living, and providing a platform for cultural dialogue and inspired positivity.
