Thanksgiving took on a whole new meaning this year at the Art Factory. We had the pleasure of hosting the wedding of Sima & Refael and to say it was a beautiful day is an understatement. The couple chose the Art Factory for its unconventionally beautiful space but it was the work of Mimulo, a Brooklyn-based event design company, who truly stole the show.
Channi and her team came in with a vision that the Art Factory has never seen before. Beginning the day before Thanksgiving, teams arrived at 6am to begin their respective tasks. Florists built the centerpieces and floral installations in the kitchen on our International space, while a carpentry team hung custom draping throughout the entire building.
Upon entering, guests were directed through folds of soft blue fabric to our unique elevator. Once they arrived on the fourth floor for the Tish and Bedeken ceremonies, the vision continued in hues of purple and mauve. Our Hemp and Linen spaces were transformed into chic, classy spaces with a combination of rented and Art Factory stock furniture. The ceremony was a dream of soft light and mauve drapery.
Guests were then transported to the third floor, International space, which you would never have known was used as a workshop only hours before! Back to linen in hues of blue, green and taupe, guest tables were dressed-as were the walls!-and adorned with the beautiful arrangements made right in that very room. Custom-made signage completed the aesthetic, right down to those used for the restrooms.
Not only was it a celebration of a beautiful couple’ s marriage, it was a exercise in seamless workmanship among all contributing staff!
